Our History
FuelPass.gov.lk was born out of a critical national need to address the severe challenges of fuel distribution during a period of unprecedented demand and supply chain disruptions in Sri Lanka. Officially launched in July 2022 by the Ministry of Power and Energy, the platform was rapidly conceptualized and deployed to stabilize the fuel supply across the island. It served as a swift, secure, and scalable solution designed to manage fuel quotas, eliminate chaotic queues at filling stations, and ensure that available fuel resources were distributed fairly and transparently to all registered vehicles and machinery.
Since its inception, FuelPass has played a pivotal role in bringing order and predictability to the national fuel supply chain.
